Learning and Play

Watoto Pre-School has high expectations of all; children, therefore, every effort is made to help children achieve their aspirations and beyond.

Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage states that “children learn best when provided with enjoyable play experiences.”

Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. The education and play offered by Watoto Pre-School helps children to continue to do this by providing all children with interesting activities that are right for their age and stage of development. This ensures that the EYFS seven learning and development areas for children are being met within Watoto Pre-School.

EYFS seven areas of learning and development;

  • Communication and language;

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social and emotional development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design.
